Funeral Services for Granada, Colorado residents, Olivia Silvas will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 17, 2026 at the Granada Christian Center with Pastor Hugo Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Valley Funeral & Cremation in Lamar, Colorado.
Olivia Gonzalez Silvas passed away on April 10, 2026 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado at the age of 81. She was born on March 14, 1945 in Odem, Texas to Candelario and Julia (Morales) Gonzalez.
Olivia was raised in Brownsville, Texas, where she spent her early years before moving to Holly, Colorado in the early 1970s. She later settled in Granada, Colorado, where she and her beloved husband, Felipe, built a home and a life together. Olivia found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. She loved quilting and sewing, creating pieces that will be cherished for years to come. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors, appreciating the beauty of nature. Olivia was a woman of strong faith, faithfully attending church and living her life with devotion. Above all, she deeply loved her family, who were the center of her world.
Olivia is survived by her children, Josie Silvas (Juan Terrazas) of Willis, Texas, Felipe Silva Jr. of Granada, Colorado, Rolando Silvas of Willis, Texas, and Francine (Oscar Jr.) Dominguez of Loveland, Colorado; 23 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren; brother, Longino Gonzalez of Brownsville, Texas; sisters, Juanita Cardenas of Brownsville, Texas, and Maria Candelaria Cantu of Edinburg, Texas; many other relatives and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Felipe Silva Sr.; daughter, Maria Teresa Silvas-Rodriguez; sisters, Romana Castro, Maria Guadalupe Gonzalez, Marie Del Socorro Lara and Julia Salazar.
