Michael Guido

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Anthony Daniel Guido, who left us unexpectedly at his home on May 21, 2025, at the age of 77. Michael was born on June 12, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, to Dominic and Rose (D’Alessandro) Guido.

Michael had a lifelong passion for the arts. He honed his skills at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, graduating in 1969. His artistic talents led him to a career as a commercial artist, and had a passion for painting and owned his own photography studio for many years.

A man of profound faith, Michael dedicated himself tirelessly to the Catholic Church. He found joy in mowing the church grounds weekly, serving as a catechist, lecturing, and especially making every priest feel like family.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Donna Guido; his children, Alex (Lynn) Guido and Tatiana (Justin) Weis; and his five cherished grandchildren, Nate, Brandon, Abby, Lauren, and Nick. He also leaves behind his mother, Rose Guido, and dear friends Chris Edenburn and Bishop Luka Sylvester Gopep, along with many other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dominic Guido; his sister, Angela Schmidt; his brother, Dominic Guido Jr.; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Dorothy Wagner.

Visitation for Michael will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Lamar.

Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lamar, Colorado.  Interment will follow in the Holly Cemetery in Holly, Colorado.
