Laura J. Shaw

A Celebration of Life for Laura Shaw will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at the Seed and Supply Church in Las Animas, Colorado with Pastor Rod Coulter officiating.

Laura Janelle Shaw was born on April 13, 1976 in Bay City, Michigan. She grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado and graduated from William J. Palmer High School in 1994. Laura worked at Goodwill for many years where she sorted donations. She loved to read, Laura Ingles Wilder books were some of her favorites, and she spent time volunteering at the Pikes Peak Community Library when she was young. She also enjoyed making puzzles and playing board games. Laura passed away at her home in Las Animas, Colorado on February 9, 2023, at the age of 46.

She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Shaw, and a twin sister Leslie.

Laura is survived by her mother, Kathy Metcalfe (Rich); sisters, Jeni McCullough (Duane) and Emily Barrett (James); three nephews, one niece, and one great niece; long-time friend Dwight Buford, along with numerous other family members and friends.
