Clifford L. Stuart Jr., known to most as Cliff or Spike, passed away, surrounded by his family on July 29, 2024 at his home in Hasty, Colorado at the age of 71. He was born on January 10, 1953 in Lamar, Colorado to Clifford L. and Alice (Lirley) Stuart.
Cliff lived in Westcliffe, Colorado until moving to Las Animas in the 6th grade. He decided to join the workforce at a young age and worked a variety of jobs in construction and as a Millwright.
In 1989 Cliff was united and marriage to Shirley Roberts. In 1990, Cliff moved to Leoti, Kansas where he worked for Cargill Cattle Feeders for the next 20 years. In 2003, his failing health forced him into retirement, he then returned to his home in Hasty.
Cliff enjoyed fishing, junk collecting, and driving to the lake and along the canal with his dogs. He also took an interest in painting and loved playing games with his family, letting them get a glimpse of his competitive side. Cliff was known as a jokester and was always waiting for the opportunity to pull a prank on friends and family.
Cliff is survived by daughter, Shanda Allen (Michael Wallace) of his first wife; step children, Chrystal Ingraham and Michelle Likes; and son, Luke (Tanya) Stuart of his second wife; four grandchildren, five step grandchildren, one great grandchild, and many other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford (2014); mother, Alice (2021); sister, Linda (1969); brother, Gene (2008); and Shirley Stuart, his beloved wife, on January 7, 2024.
Per Cliff’s request, cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled at this time.
